Thank you all for a lovely day at Chrismas card workshop.
We set up our Moss Moss installation (a collection of items with Japanese makers including kotatsu and chochin lanterns) inside a log cabin. Together with us we brought a selection of Finnish forest to be used for making chistmas cards.

Back in Tokyo to install second part of our exhibition at Mina-to, Spiral, Tokyo. Exhibition open 01.-11.11.2017.
We've been visiting folk craft masters and traditional factories in Kyushu and worked with lantern makers, indigo dyer, weaving factory, cotton wadding factory, spinning top makers and with a old clay doll master. Thank you Call, Spiral, Artek, Unag-no-nedokoi, Miyata Orimono, Finnish Cultural Foundation.

MOSS MOSS – Secrets of Southern Japan
Exhibition opening at Call. Spiral 5F, 5-6-23 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
We've been visiting folk craft masters and traditional factories in Kyushu, southern Japan since spring 2016. Learning from the nature of Kyushu, we've created furnitures and objects symbolising new life, Moss. The friendly mindset of Kyushu people inspired us to make a big Kotatsu table to be shared by the exhibition visitors.

Tree of Life is one of the more complex items in our Secrets of Russia collection. Each layer of the tree contains forest animals, which each contains items they've eaten.

Last week to visit Moomin Forest installation at GL Strand, Copenhagen.
We designed a space for museum visitors to leave their own mark. Moomin Forest is a space for museum visitors to play after seeing the exhibition ’Art, Love and Moomins’ at GL Strand. On the opening day the Moomin Forest was an all white forest of cardboard tubes withsome hundreds of colour pencils hanging from the trees. Now after three months the forest has become like a giant, colourful guest book. Moomin Forest open until Sunday, 3rd of September.

Closing Ritual: Spirits of Manufacturing

Temple of Manufacturing is closing its sacred doors this weekend. To clebrate the occasion we have invited the Spirits of Manufacturing, a series of deities representing each of the trips and techniques we have encountered in our ten-year research of manufacturing secrets.
The closing event will include ceremonial offerings by chef Toni Toivanen, former Chef de partie at NOMA. Eevent is supported by the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York.

23.07.2017. Visuals for Our Festival together with Jani Pulkka. This year's theme is ’Äänioikeus / the Right to Voice’. Our Festival, directed by Pekka Kuusisto, takes place by Lake Tuusula, Finland from 23.07. to 29.07.2017.
Since 2008 COMPANY has designed the visuals and outdoor concert experiences for the festival.

Moomin Forest installation opens at GL Strand, Copenhagen, Denmark. We designed a space for the museum visitors as part of Tove Jansson exhibition ’Art, Love and Moomins’ at GL Strand. In Moomin Forest visitors can relax and play. Hanging from the trees are books for reading and pencils for drawing. Create your own comic or colour your favorite Moomin. Exhibition open until September 2017.

Flower Tree Vases now available in three sizes: Big 160,00 EUR, Medium, 140,00 EUR and Small 125,00 EUR. Designed by COMPANY (Aamu Song & Johan Olin). Hand made in Nuutajärvi, Finland by Lasisirkus.
The Flower Vase Tree / Maljakkopuu is a commissioned art work we did for a new hospital in the city of Espoo. The design is a set steel trees holding the flower vases. The trees are located by each entrance of the 18 wards of the hospital. There the visitors can pick up a vase on their way to patient rooms. The art work was comissioned by EMMA Espoo Museum of Modern Art. Flower vases are also available in EMMA Shop.

Aamu Song is selected as one of the three candidates for the Ornamo Award 2017. The award is given annually by The Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo. “All the three candidates have contributed to opening up new avenues in design, which is currently being thoroughly challenged by change in traditional models of action”, says Kristian Keinänen, chairman of the board of the Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo.

Our exhibition ’Temple of Manufacturing’ at Storefront for Art and Design in New York will open 6th of June 2017. The exhibition will bring together the COMPANYs secrets and premiere the latest of the secrets – The Secrets of USA.

Opening of the Espoo Hospital.
Maljakkopuu / Flower vase Tree by COMPANY is a commissioned art work for a new hospital. The design is a set of 18 steel trees each holding 21 mouth-blown glass flower vases. The trees are located by the entrances of each of the 18 wards of the hospital. There the visitors can pick up a vase on their way to patient rooms. The art work was comissioned by EMMA Espoo Museum of Modern Art.
